Biographical Information
According to Burton W. Nesbitt, volunteer Lorain County coordinator for the National Graves Registration Project of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, he served as a private in Co. C of the 7th Ohio Infantry, enlisted on 6/20/1861, and was "discharged on surgeon's certificate of disability." Note: Except for the measurements, the description above applies to the original marker. That marker has been placed on a new base, on which all of the lettering has been reproduced clearly. Note too that Lots I-117 through I-139 are located at the southern end of Section F (toward the pond).
