A brief biography of the Cooper family appears on pp. 49-50 of William E. Bigglestone, They Stopped in Oberlin: Black Residents and Visitors of the Nineteenth Century (Scottsdale, AZ: Innovation Group, 1981). According to Bigglestone, after Drury Cooper died she married "widower Charles Marshall."
