Biographical Information
According to Burton W. Nesbitt, volunteer Lorain County coordinator for the National Graves Registration Project of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, he served as a private in Co. K of the 150th Ohio Infantry, enlisted on 5/2/1864, "died at Washington, D.C." on "3 Aug. 1864," and was "buried at Arlington, Va." (but note that, according to the Westwood printout, he was buried in this grave on 8/9/1864.) According to an unsourced newspaper clipping, "List of Soldiers Buried in Westwood Cemetery," on the Oberlin Public Library Westwood microfilm reel, he died "from disease contracted in service." His name is on Oberlin's Soldiers' Monument,
