Comments

[Family stone] "Wright" The photogenic, irregular boulder is a glacial erratic. According to Prof. Steven Wojtal, it is "a puddingstone conglomerate (the red pebbles are jasper),... quite a distinctive rock type. It only matches Proterozoic (between 2.6 and 1.7 billion year old) sedimentary rocks exposed along the north shore of Lake Huron - I believe that the parent rock for the erratic is named the Lorrain [sic] Formation."
