A of the 6th Ohio Cavalry, enlisted on 10/8/1861, was "appt'd. Cpl. 14 Oct. 1861. Promo. to Regt. Com. Sgt. 1 Oct 1862. Promo. to 1Lt. and Comm. of subsistence 12 Nov. 1864. Promo. to Cpt. 31 Mar. 1865 but not mustered. Discharged with regiment. Veteran," and was discharged on 8/7/1865.
