Biographical Information

According to Burton W. Nesbitt, volunteer Lorain County coordinator for the National Graves Registration Project of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, he served as a captain in Co. H of the 41st Ohio Infantry, enlisted on 10/8/1861, and "resigned 9 Jan. 1862 at Wickliffe, Ky." An artist of consideral local renown, he was also an "ardent abolitionist."
