Biographical Information

Burton W. Nesbitt, volunteer Lorain County coordinator for the National Graves Registration Project of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, has no additional information on him; and no Illinois regiments were in the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System database, <http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.htm>, as of 3/26/2002. On the Westwood printout but not the map. Page 154 of the original burial register says "Removed from Berea to Oberlin" with Silas Clapp (age "62y, 4m") and Birdie Clapp (age "1y 4m"). Recheck the original burial register for his age at death. The surname is "Lesemann" on his marker but "Leseman" in the original burial register (p. 54) and the lot book (p. 158).
